Base
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup margarine or butter

Topping
2 cups salted peanuts
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 (12.5 oz) jar caramel ice cream topping
3 tablespoons all purpose flour

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 15x10x1 inch baking pan. In large bowl, combine all base ingredients except margarine; mix well. Using a pastry blender or fork, cut in margarine until crumbly. Press evenly in bottom of greased pan. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.
Sprinkle peanuts and chocolate chips over warm base. In a small bowl, combine caramel topping and 3 Tablespoons flour; blend well. Drizzle evenly over chocolate chips and peanuts.
Bake at 350°F for an additional 12-18 minutes or until topping is set and golden brown. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. cut into bars.
