Wildfire’s Mixed Berries Crisp

Servings: 6

Mixed Berry Sauce:
1-12oz. package frozen, unsweetened raspberries
1-12oz. package frozen, unsweetened strawberries
1 C. Granulated sugar
3/4 C. water
Juice of 1 fresh orange

Berry Crisp:
1 pt. Fresh strawberries, washed and sliced
1/2 pt. Fresh blueberries, washed
1/2 pt. Fresh raspberries, washed
3 C. crumbled oatmeal raisn cookies
1 Quart vanilla ice cream
2 T. powdered sugar

Mixed Berry Sauce:
Place all ingredients in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Puree with a blender and strain through a fine strainer. Set aside. This can be refrigerated for several days and reheated in a sauce pan or microwave over low heat.

Berry Crisp:
Gather six bowls and place 1/2 C. strawberries in each. Then 1/4 C raspberries and 1/4 C. blueberries. Gently mix to distribute evenly. Top each bowl with 2 oz. (a ladle-full) of warm mixed berry sauce. Add 1/2 C. crumbled cookies. Finish with a scoop of ice cream on top and sifting powdered sugar over each.
