Fresh green leaf lettuce from the garden
half and half cream

1/4 C. half and half cream
1/4 c. vinegar
2 T. sugar

Wash and tear the lettuce.

Mix cream, vinegar and sugar. Adjust to taste. Mix lettuce and dressing just before serving.

    My great grandmother used to bring in fresh lettuce from her garden and dress it with something like this. I thought she used to call it "Honeymoon" dressing or something like that. Can't wait to try this.

      Thank you. This is what I needed as I could not find my Mom's recipe.
      I used Apple cider vinegar.

    My Mom used this all summer with fresh garden lettuce. Days b4 there were all kinds of bottled dressings and we didn’t have lettuce in winter In 1950 I lived in S.W. Minnesota on a farm. Great life, just not a lot of frills. :-)
